Our Privacy Commitment

TullyType is built with privacy as a core principle. We do not collect, store, or transmit your typing data to our servers. Everything stays on your device.

What Data We Store (Locally)

TullyType uses your browser's localStorage to save data only on your device:

• Uploaded Documents: Text content you upload or paste for typing practice
• Typing Statistics: Your WPM, accuracy, and key error data from practice sessions
• Settings: Theme preference (light/dark mode) and other UI settings
• Subscription Status: Whether you have an active Pro subscription
• Cookie Consent: Your choice to accept or decline localStorage usage

This data never leaves your device. We have no access to it.

What Happens in Multiplayer Mode

TullyType's multiplayer mode uses peer-to-peer (P2P) WebRTC connections:

• Direct Connection: Your device connects directly to other players' devices
• No Server Storage: Game data (typing progress, race results) is transmitted between players only
• Signaling Server: A minimal signaling server is used only to establish P2P connections (not to store data)
• Temporary Data: Connection metadata (lobby codes) is temporary and deleted after the race ends

Data We Do NOT Collect

• We do not collect your name, email, or personal information (unless you create an account for Pro features)
• We do not track your browsing activity or use analytics cookies
• We do not sell or share your data with third parties
• We do not store your documents on our servers
• We do not use advertising trackers

Payment Processing (Pro Subscriptions)

If you purchase a Pro subscription, payment processing is handled by Stripe (or another secure payment processor). We do not store your credit card information. Payment data is subject to Stripe's privacy policy.

Optional User Accounts

If you choose to create an account (for syncing data across devices or managing your Pro subscription), we will collect:

• Email address (for account identification and support)
• Subscription status
• Account creation date

Your typing data and documents remain local unless you explicitly choose to sync them (feature pending).

Cookies and Tracking

TullyType uses localStorage for essential functionality (storing your typing data, settings, and achievements locally on your device).

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our site (page views, feature usage, general location). This helps us improve TullyType. Google Analytics may set cookies to track anonymous usage patterns. No personally identifiable typing data or documents are sent to Google Analytics.

We do not use advertising cookies or sell your data to third parties.

Your Data Rights

Since your data is stored locally on your device, you have full control:

• Delete Your Data: Clear your browser's localStorage or use TullyType's settings to reset all data
• Export Your Data: Export your documents and stats as JSON files (feature pending)
• Delete Your Account: If you created an account, contact us to delete it

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as TullyType evolves. We will notify users of significant changes by displaying a notice in the app. Continued use of TullyType after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
