No! You can use TullyType without creating an account. All your data is stored locally in your browser. Accounts are optional and only needed for Pro subscriptions or syncing data across devices (feature pending).
TullyType works on any device with a modern web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge). It's optimized for desktop/laptop keyboards but also works on tablets with external keyboards.
Pro users can upload: .txt, .pdf, .doc, .docx, .md (Markdown), .json, .js, .py, .html, .css, and other code files. Plain text is extracted automatically.
WPM (Words Per Minute) is calculated as: (characters typed / 5) / elapsed minutes. We use the standard 5 characters per word average. Accuracy is: (correct characters / total characters typed) × 100.
TullyType shows a visual keyboard layout with color-coded keys indicating which finger should press each key. This helps you learn proper touch typing technique.
Absolutely! We have sample code snippets (JavaScript, Python, HTML, CSS) and Pro users can upload their own code files to practice.
One player hosts a lobby and gets a 6-character code. Up to 9 other players can join using that code. The host selects a document and starts the race. All players type the same text and see each other's progress in real-time.
Free users can join multiplayer lobbies. Only Pro users can host lobbies and select custom documents for races.
Yes! TullyType uses WebRTC for peer-to-peer connections. Your typing data is shared directly between players, not stored on our servers.
Lag may cause delays in seeing other players' progress, but your own stats are calculated locally and remain accurate. Stable internet connection recommended for best experience.

Yes! Cancel your Pro subscription at any time. You'll retain access until the end of your current billing period.

No! Everything stays in your browser using localStorage. Your documents, typing statistics, and settings never leave your device (except during P2P multiplayer where data is shared directly with other players).
Clearing localStorage will delete your uploaded documents, settings, and typing history. We recommend exporting your data first if you plan to clear your browser (export feature pending).

Make sure your file format is supported (.txt, .pdf, .docx, .md, code files). Some PDF files may have formatting issues. If problems persist, try copying the text and using the "Paste Text" feature instead.
Ensure the code is entered correctly (6 characters, case-sensitive). The host must keep the lobby open. If the host closes their browser, the lobby ends. Both host and players need stable internet connections.
